*Note: Before you can attend any class you must be able to ride and balance a bicycle around a course.
Basic RiderCourse (BRC)
This course is aimed at beginning riders of all ages. Classroom discussion
prepares you for
on-cycle maneuvers in a controlled, off-street environment. Youll learn
how to safely operate
a motorcycle beginning with the proper mounting technique and gradually working
up to swerving and emergency braking techniques. The course concludes with
a knowledge test and an on-cycle skill evaluation. Note: Participants must
be at least 16 years of age. Those under 18 must have a waiver signed by a
parent or guardian before taking the course. The Basic RiderCourse lasts approximately
15 to 20 hours.
Extended BRC
For novices desiring or requiring more individualized instruction. This is
a Regular Basic RiderCourse but with a RiderCoach/participant ratio of 3:1.
Additional Riding
This is for riders taking the BRC class who wish to have additional guided
riding practice. Additional Riding lasts an additional 4 hours to the BRC.
Experienced RiderCourses (ERC)
- Skills Plus RiderCourse. This
course is for riders who want to fine-tune their
street skills. Riders must provide their own safe,
street-legal motorcycle and passengers are permitted.
Valid motorcycle license and proof of insurance is
required. This class is approximately 4 to 5 hours
long.
- License Waiver RiderCourse.
This course is for riders who want to fine-tune their
street skills and have the license test waived. Riders
must provide their own safe, street-legal motorcycle
and no passengers are permitted. An end-of-course
knowledge and skills test will be administered for
License Skills test waiver. This class is approximately
5 to 6 hours long.

- Eye protection/Sunglasses.
- Over-the-ankle footwear/Boots.
- Long sturdy slacks/Jeans.
- Long sleeve shirt or jacket.
- Full-fingered gloves.
- DOT or SNELL approved helmet

provided if you dont have one.
- Snack/Energy drink and sunblock.
Experienced RiderCourses
- All of the above, plus
- Your own street legal motorcycle
(license/proof
of insurance for the Skills Plus course).

For the Basic RiderCourse,
if it is raining or threatening to rain on the day of
class, show up on time anyway. The class consists of
5 hours of classroom work and a knowledge test and 10-15
hours of range work. So, we will have plenty to do indoors
if it is raining.
Basic RiderCourse

Experienced RiderCourse
- Improve your skills on your own
motorcycle.

Paid tuition guarantees you a space
in a class. You will be notified after receiving payment
which class dates are available.
- Tuition for the Basic RiderCourse (BRC)-
$150.00
- Tuition for the Extended BRC. For novices desiring
or requiring more individualized instruction. (RiderCoach/participant
ratio of 3:1)- $450.00
- Tuition for Additional Riding (4 additional
hours of guided riding practice) For riders completing
a Basic RiderCourse whether passsing skill test or
not - $200.00
- Tuition for the Experienced RiderCourses
(ERC) -
- Skills Waiver ERC - $75.00
- RiderPlus ERC - $75.00
- Private lessons available - $90.00/Hour
Full tution refunds are issued when a class is full or cancelled by AMS. If you cancel a class within ten (10) working days of the class beginning, you will receive a full refund minus a $15 administrative fee. If you reschedule the class within ten (10) working days of the class beginning, you must pay $15 to reschedule. If you cancel a class within five (5) working days of the class beginning, you will receive a 50% refund. If you reschedule a class within five (5)working days of the class beginning, you must pay $55 to reschedule. Refunds are not issued to individuals who cancel or reschedule on the day of the class or who do not show up for the class. Refunds are not isssued after a class has started. If you voluntarily drop or are asked to leave or do not pass the class and wish to repeat the course, you must register and pay for the class again.
